The cost of a funeral depends upon the extent of the services provided by the funeral
director and upon the quality, and therefore the cost, of the coffin selected by
the family.
There are three main components in the cost of a funeral- these are:
- Cost of the coffin: Like all reputable funeral directors, we offer
a large and varied selection of coffins so that we can meet the requirements of
everyone- from simple chip board to veneered coffins, right up to solid timber or
steel caskets. The choice of how much or how little is spent on the coffin is entirely
the decision of the family members. Whilst the choice of coffin is the family’s,
we suggest that the least expensive coffin that is suitable for the service being
planned, is used. We encourage them to take their time in this choice in accordance
with what they feel is appropriate to their preferences and financial circumstances.
- Disbursements: These represent any payments made on behalf of the family
for items such as flowers, church fees, doctors fees, cremation fees, and purchase of a cemetery plot.
- The Funeral Director’s charges and Service Fee: The service fee is designed
to cover all the overhead costs. These overhead costs relate to items such as: the
use of facilities; use of the hearse; liaising with clergy, cemeteries or crematoria,
florists etc.: the funeral director’s availability at any time of the
day or night, providing trained personnel; salaries and wages, administration costs
etc.
Regardless of what you decide to spend on the funeral, you will find that our complete
services offer alternatives to meet your individual wishes and to suite your means.
We are prepared to provide any type of service desired, from the inexpensive to
the more elaborate, and to us it is a matter of great personal pride that no family
will ever be denied our assistance.
If you wish to discuss funeral costs in more specific detail please feel free to
do so at your convenience. We are always available, and there is never any obligation
on your part whatsoever.
